| The Stairway Manufacturers Association publishes visual interpretations of BuildingCodes to be accurate pictorial descriptive material void of editorial comment to aid inthe understanding of the written text. We provide this document as a learning tool to aiddesigners, builders, homeowners, building officials, stair builders, and others in the shelterindustry to accurately and consistently interpret the building code related to stairways.The SMA has participated in the model code development process since 1988. We supportthe International Code Council's development process through our membership and arerecognized and respected for our responsible efforts at code reform and interpretation inaddition to our trade and industry experience that we bring to the table. This experience andreputation is an asset to our continued efforts to provide safe stairways and reduce stairwayaccidents while allowing freedom of design, and aesthetic properties of preference.In addition to our experience in the code development process we use the commentariespublished by the International Code Council as a resource for each visual interpretation.The SMA wishes to thank the ICC for their permission to print portions of the IRC and infull recognition of our responsibility to educate and inform we invite your feedback andcomments.This document is provided electronically at no cost to those who wish to print it in wholefrom www.stairways.org. РАЗДЕЛ R311.5 Лестницы деревянные R311.5.1 Ширина Ширина деревянной лестницы должна быть не менее 36 дюймов (914 мм) по всей высоте лестничного марша от предполагаемого поручня до высоты габаритного контура (до потолка), фото 1. Поручни не должны выступать более чем на 4,5 дюймов (114 мм) с обеих сторон лестницы, фото 2. Т.е. минимальная ширина деревянной лестницы за вычетом поручней должна быть - 31,5 дюйма (787 мм) при одностороннем размещении поручней, или 27 дюймов (698 мм), когда лестница имеет поручни с двух сторон, фото 3.
